Couples Counseling

Relationships can be one of the most meaningful parts of life. They can also be one of the most difficult. Many couples reach a point where something no longer feels the way it once did. Communication becomes harder. The same arguments repeat. Distance begins to grow. Often both people care deeply about the relationship but feel unsure how to move forward.

Common Challenges Couples Face

Couples come to counseling for many reasons, including:

  • recurring arguments that don’t seem to resolve

  • communication breakdowns

  • feeling disconnected or distant

  • rebuilding trust after a rupture

  • navigating major life transitions together

These challenges are common, even in strong relationships.

What Counseling Looks Like

Couples counseling is not about taking sides or assigning blame.

It’s about creating a space where both people can:

  • slow down the conversation

  • better understand each other

  • recognize patterns that lead to conflict

  • begin communicating more clearly

Often the goal is not just to solve a specific problem, but to change the way the relationship functions over time.

My Approach

I approach couples counseling as a collaborative process.

My role is to help both partners:

  • feel heard and understood

  • identify patterns that are keeping them stuck

  • develop more effective ways of communicating

The work can be challenging at times, but it is often also clarifying.

In Person and Online Sessions

Couples can meet:

  • in person in Colorado

  • online from anywhere in Colorado or Tennessee

Online sessions often work well for couples with busy schedules or distance constraints.

How to Get Started

If you’re considering counseling, you can reach out by phone or email. We can schedule a brief conversation and discuss what’s been happening in the relationship. From there, we can decide on a path forward.
